Street Paving Rolls
Out in Downtown Denver This Week
Weekly Paving Updates
Posted Online at denvergov.org/denverpaving
DENVER – Street paving season is in full swing
in Denver, and this week, Denver Public Works paving crews will roll to
Downtown Denver to improve approximately 85 blocks! Crews will work to
complete each street as quickly as possible and minimize impacts to traffic,
residents and businesses. The work downtown is expected to begin today and
last through mid-September.
The blocks
that will be resurfaced downtown are primarily within the boundaries of
Colfax Avenue, Broadway, Speer Boulevard and Wynkoop Street. Milling and
paving will occur Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm, with the goal
to visit each stretch of roadway twice: once to remove the old asphalt and
again to pave. The work has been scheduled to avoid impacts to Colorado
Rockies games and special events.
Weekly paving
schedules are posted online at denvergov.org/denverpaving.
With the paving schedule subject to change, Denver Public Works suggests
residents visit the website for updates each week and to view the streets
scheduled to be paved this year.
The first
stretches to be improved downtown as part of this year’s street paving

Denver Public
Works provided a smoother ride on several streets downtown last year
(approximately 100 blocks). More streets are being improved this year to keep
people moving safely and efficiently. Before that, Denver had not paved its
Central Business District since 2003, so improvements were due!
