Denver News & Events

Whether it's 16th St. Mall, the Ballpark neighborhood or the Plaza at Union Station, Denver's downtown is brimming with events. Our monthly downtown Denver newsletter is designed to inform Mile High City employees and families about the awesome events we host in our own front yard in Civic Center Park, Skyline Park and across Downtown. And we'll have some fun info on commercial film production in Denver too!

What a lucky city Denver is with so many ways to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in the month of March!

The Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade will take over the streets of LoDo for the 56th year in a row on March 17! The parade steps off at 9:30 am and details and route information can be found here

If running is more your speed, back for the 28th year, the Runnin' of the Green 7K returns to Lower Downtown on March 11.

Registration and more information can be found here for those of you looking to burn of the calories before enjoying a traditional Irish meal!

If a 7K isn't your cup of green tea, the Lucky Charm event at Denver's City Park on March 10 offers a 1 mile, 5K, and 10K option. Details and registration can be found here

For the wee Irish ones in your life, the Lucky Laces 5K and 10K also offers a Kid's Run in addition to the run/walk! More info and registration can be found here.

Event Safety is our Number 1 Priority

The City and County of Denver Hosted a Free Safety Workshop for Special Events on February 7

On February 7, the City and County of Denver hosted its first ever Special Events Safety Workshop. The Denver Police Department, Denver Office of Emergency Management, Denver Fire Department, Denver Health, Office of Special Events, the Colorado Information Analysis Center, and representatives from Denver's PrideFest Event teamed up to present a four hour information session on event safety measures.

The workshop was heavily attended and also filmed for those not able to attend. The sessions which will air on Denver's Channel 8 can be viewed here and here

The Office of Special Events aims to ensure ALL events in Denver are successful and fun but most importantly SAFE. The safety of event goers and the organizers and volunteers producing them each year is our top priority.
